Corey Egan is hiring an Office Assistant to support our jewelry studio. This position is part time. This role is responsible for supporting the jewelry production and jewelry sales of the shop.
Corey Egan is a growing jewelry company based in Berkeley, California. Our business is a mix of wholesale, retail, and e-commerce jewelry sales. We pride ourselves on having a current and efficient e-commerce store and cutting edge content marketing for our industry.
Jewelry experience is not necessary for this position. But strong writing skills and the ability to learn and adapt to new software and apps are required.
The Office Assistant will handle the shop’s office & operational procedures, oversee the inventory of our e-commerce platforms, and provide excellent customer service to our wholesale and retail clients. Your responsibilities will include:
The Office assistant will manage our daily bookkeeping in Accountedge. You will accurately record our jewelry sales and purchases in the software. You will monitor our accounts payable and receivable and send invoices to clients when necessary. As new jewelry is created in the studio you will add these items to our inventory in the software.
The Office Assistant is the first line of defense for customer service in our studio. You will greet all email inquiries and answer any questions about our jewelry. You respond to our retailers request for quotes and contact them when their jewelry is ready for shipment.
We are on the Shopify e-commerce platform. Experience with this platform is not necessary, but attention to detail and a willingness to learn are required.
You will maintain the inventory count on our website so it accurately reflects the jewelry on hand in our studio. As new items are created, you will write product descriptions, organize photos, and list the products for sale on our website.
You will proofread and add new content to our company blog as it is created. Our blog is also published on the Shopify Platform
You will pack and ship jewelry orders from our Shopify store, Etsy store, and wholesale orders to our retailers. You will keep track of the shipping status and follow up with customer orders as necessary.
PICK UPS AND DROP OFFS
You will be sent to our vendors and retailers as needed to pick up and drop off projects in progress. You will take deliveries to the Post Office, UPS, and Fed Ex as needed.
ORDER AND MANAGE JEWELRY SUPPLIES
You will place orders from the workshop for any needed parts and supplies from our vendors. Some of our vendors and service providers are local, and you will be responsible for dropping off and picking up any pieces from them as well as tracking their status.
MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA
You will assist with scheduling our social media marketing and engaging with customers when all of the tasks above have been completed.
- Knowledge of jewelry or experience in the jewelry industry is not required, but strong writing skills and impeccable attention to detail are a must.
- You enjoy helping and communicating with others and can problem solve independently.
- You must also be technologically savvy and open to learning new apps and software.
- You must be comfortable working on Apple computers and the iOS operating systems.
- You’re a team player who is excited to contribute your skills and ideas to a growing brand.
HOURS & COMPENSATION
This position is paid, and compensation will depend on experience and trainability.
This is a part-time position starting at 12 hours per week. Work days will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. (choose 2 of these days @ 6 hours each, or all 3 days @ 4 hours each) This position has the potential to expand into more hours or a more involved role.
Our studio hours are Monday - Friday, 9am-5:30pm.
