Customized Jewelry & Modifications
Want to tailor a piece of jewelry so it perfectly suits you? Small tweaks can have a big impact!
While I don’t create custom designed jewelry, I can offer slight modifications that make my designs look and feel unique to you. Here are some of my favorite ways to customize and add your personal touch.

1. REQUEST A DIFFERENT GEMSTONE
You’re not limited to white diamonds in my jewelry designs. You can swap them with colored gemstones to represent your anniversary, birthstone, or favorite color.

2. USE YOUR DIAMOND
We'd love to incorporate your existing diamond into one of our designs! It works best if the diamond is similar in size and shape to the original design. However, for certain styles such as our Aurora Pendants and Rings, we can accommodate other shapes too. Just reach out to us with a photo and measurements of your gem, and we'll be happy to explore the possibilities together!

3. CHOOSE A DIFFERENT METAL
I offer more than just silver and 14k yellow gold. Any design I make can be crafted in another color, such as rose or white gold. You could opt for a higher karat or platinum as well. You can see a range of your metal options here.

4. ADD ENGRAVING
Hand engraving adds a thoughtful and personal touch. Whether it's a single initial, a secret message, or a date engraved inside your wedding bands, I adore the character and sentiment that engraving imparts on a piece.

5. LEVERBACKS
Leverbacks are as easy to put on as my traditional ear wires, but they offer an added layer of security with the hinged closure. I recommend these for folks who worry they might lose a special earring.

6. SPECIAL EAR POSTS
Changing something as small as an earring post could bring you more comfort or security.
Longer ear posts may be a more comfortable fit if you find a traditional length squeezes your earlobes.

Threaded ear posts with screw-on backs take a moment to put on, but lock down earrings you plan to wear daily.

7. ALTERNATIVE CLASPS
Some folks like the security of a lobster claw, while others prefer the easy handling of a hook clasp. For arthritic hands, a magnetic clasp is also a good option (though less secure than the other two.)

8. Go a little larger
Sometimes, all we need in the studio is a little nudge to make a design for a larger gem. We loved these extra large aurora studs so much we added them to our permanent lineup.

9. Change the number of diamonds or gemstones
You can request more or less diamonds or gemstones in a piece to appease your aesthetic, or create a symbolism special to you. For instance, you can represent a special date, number of years, or number of children with the amount of gemstones we use.
You can even request we add a diamond to a design that doesn’t already have one!

10. Custom Chain Length
One of the simplest modifications is to make the chain your preferred length! Our standard chain lengths are usually 18”. Common length requests are to have them at 16”, 20”, 24” or even 36”— but nearly any length is possible.

11. Chain Extenders
I’m also a fan of adding additional loops on the chain so a necklace can be worn at different lengths. We recommend adding chain extenders to a necklace in 1 or 2 inch increments, like an 18” necklace with an extender to 20”, or a 20” with extenders to 22” and 24”.
